Weetangera

They’ll want to come again tomorrow

At our Weetangera Outside Hours School Care, we provide care and activities for children on both a permanent and casual basis, for both before and after school during the term.

We have extended our OSHC services for the pre-schoolers as well providing them a nurturing play-based learning environment for After School Care. We also offer a vacation care service during holidays.

We work with families to provide your child and their peers a safe space before and after school to allow them to continue to develop, socialise and enjoy themselves. Our programs are designed with a focus on children having fun while they learn new skills, make new friends and have new experiences.

At Weetangera, we are proud to be an inclusive centre and believe in the power of inspired children, families and educators and value the importance of play and encourage children to participate in fun learning experiences.

Our Weetangera programs operate out of the Weetangera Primary School on Southwell Street, a convenient and central location in Canberra’s Inner North.

Safeguarding children and young people

At The Y Canberra Region safeguarding is embedded in our organisational culture. We are dedicated to providing safe, inclusive environments where children and young people are respected, protected and heard. Our commitment is demonstrated through the implementation of well-defined Safeguarding Children and Young People policies and procedures, ongoing staff training to identify and mitigate risks and a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse or neglect. We actively partner with families and children to ensure they feel empowered to raise concerns with confidence, and we fulfil all legal obligations to report and respond to any matters related to safety or welfare.
