You’ll love the way they grow

At Holt Early Learning Centre, we believe every child is a capable and curious learner. Our beautifully designed open-plan environment, filled with natural light and thoughtfully arranged spaces, invites children to explore, create, and connect in a warm and welcoming setting.

As part of the Y Canberra Region, we’re proud to foster a strong sense of belonging, community, and partnership with families.

Every day at YMCA Holt is an opportunity to explore, discover, and grow. We invite you to visit and experience the difference of a centre where your child is truly seen, heard, and valued.

We follow a Reggio Emilia-inspired, inquiry-based approach to early learning. Our program encourages children to dive into Units of Inquiry—projects based on their interests—guided by passionate educators who observe, listen, and collaborate.

We treat the environment as the ‘third teacher’ and place high value on relationships, exploration, and meaningful learning.

Our team consists of qualified and passionate educators who bring a wealth of experience in early childhood education. Led by Early Childhood Teachers, our school readiness program focuses on building key skills such as:

  • Social-emotional development
  • Self-regulation and independence
  • Communication and confidence

To ensure a smooth transition to school, we partner with local schools and transition groups, providing continuity and reassurance for both children and families.

Safeguarding children and young people

At The Y Canberra Region safeguarding is embedded in our organisational culture. We are dedicated to providing safe, inclusive environments where children and young people are respected, protected and heard. Our commitment is demonstrated through the implementation of well-defined Safeguarding Children and Young People policies and procedures, ongoing staff training to identify and mitigate risks and a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse or neglect. We actively partner with families and children to ensure they feel empowered to raise concerns with confidence, and we fulfil all legal obligations to report and respond to any matters related to safety or welfare.
