Our mission is to empower children, young people and communities Australia-wide to build a just, sustainable, equitable and inclusive world where every person can thrive in body, mind and spirit.

At the Y Canberra Region, we believe in building a better world, with and for young people. We strive to empower, connect and support our young people in our care, our staff and our communities.

As part of the oldest and largest youth organisation in the world, the Y is passionate about providing space for young people to grow, learn, move and thrive.

Here in the Canberra Region, we reach across borders to offer services and impact to communities and young people from all across the ACT and reaching out to Queanbeyan, Sutton and Bungendore.

We have an extensive service profile and an ability to support our youth and communities across the region in early education and care, outside hours school care, health and wellbeing, student accommodation, inclusion basketball programs and youth leadership

Our Impact

Our programs and services aim to make a difference to our community by providing people with the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive!

Safeguarding Children and Young People

Safeguarding is, at its core, a human right.

It gives children and young people a voice and enables them to speak up with confidence.

The Y Canberra Region has a commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable people first and foremost in all of our programs and activities. We have strong support, training and procedures which help us to continually embed a safe culture.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Y Canberra Region acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and operate – the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples. We pay our respect to Elders, past, present and emerging, and celebrate their continuing connection to land, community and culture – Artwork by Megan Daley, an Ngunnawal/Wiradjuri Indigenous artist.
